A desire to help individuals achieve better health and a more rewarding life prompted Marilyn Donnelly, RD, LD to leave a successful career in the insurance industry to become a nutrition counselor.
Marilyn has practiced nutrition counseling in the Concord community since 1994. Here areas of specialty include weight and cholesterol management, eating disorders (including anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder), emotional eating and pediatric nutrition.
Marilyn approaches her work with a strong belief that individuals do best with a custom-tailored approach to nutrition which takes into account their individual goals, physiology and personal life choices. She helps her clients focus on meaningful, manageable and sustainable changes that are integrated into an overall healthier lifestyle. She particularly enjoys the challenge of helping people who have failed at diets and who lament: "I know the nutrition information; why can't I follow it and be successful?"
Marilyn uses her holistic, therapeutic, individualized approach to guide clients toward healthier eating and overall wellness. Her firm and focused, yet caring and gentle motivation guides individuals toward permament lifestyle changes, better health and improved self-esteem.
When she isn't counseling, Marilyn enjoys her own healthy lifestyle, including cooking, gardening, contra dancing and active outdoor sports such as skiing and biking.
