Jane Sullivan-Durand, MD is a Board-certified Family Physician practicing Integrative Medicine, helping people to
integrate Nutritional, Behavioral, and/or Alternative & Complementary therapies into their medical care. She
developed her consultative practice in order to help her patients feel well by whatever means are available. She
draws from her experience as a conventional medical practitioner and combines this with her knowledge of holistic
medicine to create a treatment plan that combines the best of both medical worlds.
She specializes in the treatment of Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Thyroid disorders, Women’s Health issues such
as PMS, Menopause and Osteoporosis, and Stress-related medical problems such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome,
Headaches, Migraines, Sleep Disorders, Anxiety and Depression. She also assists people with Heart Disease,
High Blood Pressure and Diabetes to improve the course of their disease.
Her practice is consultative in nature and does not replace your primary care physician, with whom she will work to
ensure that you benefit from collaborative care. She has chosen to participate with Cigna, Anthem, Blue Cross-
Blue Shield, Medicare and Medicaid. She will see patients with other health insurance carriers on a fee-for-service
basis.
Dr. Sullivan-Durand received her medical degree at the University of Vermont School of Medicine and her Family
Practice training at the Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia. She also received advanced training in
Behavioral Medicine from Dr. Herbert Benson at the Mind-Body Institute at the Deaconess Hospital in Boston,
Massachusetts.
Based on this training, Dr. Sullivan-Durand developed "It's Your Time to Be Well", a Behavioral Medicine program
designed to reduce stress-symptoms through relaxation training and meditation, nutritional changes and aerobic
exercise. This program provides detailed advice and guidance and is held at the Center for Health Promotion (230-
7300) in Concord.
Dr. Sullivan-Durand speaks regularly on topics such as Stress Management, Women’s Health Issues, Alternative &
Complementary therapies, Healthy Sleep Strategies and Physician-Patient relationships. She produced "Stress
Solutions I, II & III", a series of relaxation Audiotapes/CDs that people can use to relieve stress symptoms, improve
their well being, and manage their weight and eating issues. She also co-authored the book "Give Stress a Rest"
with other leaders in the field of stress management.
