Susan Kennedy, LICSW, LMT, CHT

Susan Kennedy LICSW, LMT, CHT offers psychotherapy, Integrative Energy-Based Therapy, Massage Therapy and Hypnotherapy.
Her approach is holistic and collaborative.

She aims to relieve presenting symptoms as well as to heal on a deeper level and to empower clients.

“I believe that each of us is essentially whole and healthy. The struggles, pain and ‘dis-ease’ we experience provide avenues that can be used therapeutically to guide us to the state of health. I will work closely with you, listening to all that you present, providing support, insight and guidance, while also encouraging your innate ability to tune into your inner wisdom and to follow the healing path that it presents.”

Susan’s training as a psychotherapist, bodyworker and energy therapist enables her to address problems from a variety of perspectives. This, combined with her gentle, non-invasive approach makes her especially effective with people whose problems have not responded to other therapies.

The conditions which she has treated successfully include anxiety, depression, and stress; life transitions; relationship problems with partners, family, and co-workers; parenting issues; work-related problems; mid-life/menopause issues; weight management, eating and body image problems; chronic pain/illness; headaches; fibromyalgia; chronic fatigue; multiple chemical sensitivity; and insomnia.

She has lectured on topics related to depression, stress and energy therapies. Susan spent the first eight years of her practice working with children and adolescents. She enjoys working with clients of all ages.

Susan received her Masters degree from California State University of Sacramento. She is a licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been practicing in the Concord area for more than twenty years. She is also a licensed Massage Therapist, a certified Hypnotherapist and a Reiki practitioner.

Her work is informed by theory and practice in the areas of eastern and western spirituality; mindfulness; breathwork and sound healing; guided imagery and relaxation techniques; the chakra system and dreamwork. She has taken advanced course work in modern and existential psychoanalytic theory.
